![]() ![]() > It doesn't appear to be device corruption, as mentioned, I tested by connecting to a Windows machine and both drives show as they should, and I can read and write with either of the drives. It is not connected to a hub but directly to the Mini, the same way it was tested on the Windows machine. > It's not a power / cable issue- I used all the same cables and cords and it connects and works correctly with a Windows machine. Most of what you've typed I addressed in my post: All appears to be fine with the external drives. Looking for suggestions of what to check and or use. I returned the 5 Bay to the Mini, unplugged the other USB drive, plugged in the 5 Bay, powered it, gave it a minute to boot, then booted the Mini. I have a friend coming Fri who offered to bring their 2014 Mini for me to test it with, but for now I have not been able to test it on another instance of OS-X. All worked as normal I am able to read and write to both HDDs. I then:Moved entire 5 Bay unit, including same USB cable, to another machine - Windows machine. Used Disk utility "First Aid" - it returned ".First Aid process failed.".Swapped drives into open bays (keeping same trays). The video drive is not being read correctly, but the audio drive works as it should and I can read and write from / to the drive. Today, after a reboot, I get a notice on the Mac: " The disk you inserted is not readable by this computer" and offers 3 options: Initialize, Ignore, and Eject. This system has been working as described for about 3 months (the HomeBridge has been working for about 3 years I recently added the 5 bay ~ 3 months ago). 1 drive is labeled audio, the other video. The HDDs in the 5 Bay are formatted as exFat. I have another external USB drive that I use for Time Machine and some basic backup. It connects via USB cable to the Mac, giving me 2 drives. I have an external 5 bay unit for my media, using 2 x 4TB WD Red+ NAS drives. I use this machine to run my home automation (HomeBridge) and as a Plex server. I know the post might seem a bit longer, but it's because I've included what I've done to resolve this myself so others who may have suggestions can see if I've done it already. ![]() ![]() Decent technical background, not a lot of OS-X experience. ![]()
